Callipers

Caliper, also spelled calliper, is a precision measurement tool used to accurately measure the dimension of an object. Calipers have two adjustable legs or jaws that can measure the outside diameter, inside diameter, depth, or step height of an object. Inside Calliper

• An inside calliper is used to measure the inner dimensions of an object, such as the inside diameter of a hole, bore, or cavity.
• It has two inward-facing jaws or legs that can be adjusted to fit snugly within the inner surface being measured.
• Inside callipers are particularly useful for measuring the internal diameters of pipes, tubes, or cylindrical objects.

Outside Calliper

• An outside calliper is used to measure the external dimensions of an object, such as the outside diameter, thickness, or width.
• It has two outward-facing jaws or legs that can be adjusted to fit over the outer surface being measured.
• Outside callipers are commonly used to measure the external diameters of shafts, rods, or cylindrical objects, as well as the thickness of plates or sheets.
